2018:  Hello! My name is Katie Connell and I am the new Director of Camp Hamp. For the last year, I have worked at the Berkshire Museum as an Education Specialist for their summer and after-school programs, in this position I taught different S.T.E.A.M subjects to Elementary and Middle School students. Prior to working at the Berkshire Museum, I was an Education Support Professional at J.F.K Middle School. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and I am currently applying to Master programs in Education. In my spare time, I enjoy drawing and painting, going to the beach, and hiking.

Questions for the Director:
What are you looking forward to as the new Camp Hamp Director?
As the new Camp Hamp Director I am enthusiastic to participate in the programming of new and exciting activities for this summer. I hope to bring new craft ideas, possibly some cool science experiments, and of course lots of awesome games! I am looking forward to meeting all of our campers and hope we all have a fantastic summer together.

What do you enjoy most about working with children?
I enjoy working with youth for many reasons, but the most prominent one is their enthusiasm to explore and experience new things. It could be learning a new subject in school, meeting new friends, or trying a new activity for the first time, kids are always excited to try something new.

What is your favorite Camp game?
My favorite camp game is Capture the Flag! I enjoy playing any team-based game in which everyone has to participate in order to win.
