Hybrid — Tai Chi — Beginner Level
Mondays
2:45 to 3:45 pm
Free Residents | $5 Non-Residents
In the Beginner Tai Chi class, we learn a variety of energizing Qigong (chi-gong) warm-up exercises that circulate energy throughout the body by coordinating movement and breath. We also learn the Yang style Tai Chi form, Part 1, which has thirteen moves. These thirteen moves are a flowing sequence that brings a sense of harmonious balance. The learning process requires a time commitment, which can take many months or longer. Consistent class attendance is recommended to get the best results. Learning is cumulative, and each repetition in class and at home facilitates body memory, enhancing the enjoyment of this slow-moving meditation for health and relaxation. Attending this class requires a four-week initial commitment. New beginners must attend the first week of the month.
