AARP Foundation Tax-Aide

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides tax assistance to anyone, free of charge, with a focus on taxpayers who are over 50 and have low to moderate income. You don’t need to be an AARP member to use the service. Tax Aid is generally available from February to April. Contact your Local Senior Center or go online for more information.

VITA helps you get the best refund possible. Volunteers will prepare your return, taking the stress out of filing. Tax preparation appointments are available from January through April. Under state law, there are several categories of persons who may be eligible for personal exemption or reduction in their property tax. The law provides exemptions for the categories listed: 

  • Senior Exemption
  • Blind Exemption
  • Veteran Exemption
  • Minor Child of Deceased Parent
  • Surviving Spouse
  • Community Preservation Act Exemption.
